Relay over

Well, another Relay has come and gone and this year was great! We did fantastic with fundraising given the economy. Better yet, we had 340 people sign up for CPS-3 at our site this year. Way to show LaGrange Relayers.

Sue and Fenway did a terrific job as this year's co-chairs and the committee as a whole deserves our thanks for putting on another great event.

We know that everyone will begin to go about life as usual, but don't forget Relay. You can look for some exciting announcements from us in the coming weeks and months. And, while the ACS Relay site will go away only to be rebuilt next year, we will still be here at Blogger and on Facebook.

Keep your eyes out for the announcements and stay in touch with us.

Thanks for being a part of LaGrange Relay!

Are you ready to Relay!?

Hey LaGrange Relayers!

It's getting close. Just a couple more days.

Good news, we have a couple of added features for this year's event. LaGrange County Sheriff Terry Martin will be sending along his K9 handler to do a demonstration. That will be at 2 p.m. Saturday.

From 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday the sheriff's department will be doing a Jail and Bail fundraiser. For a small fee ($5) you can have someone arrested and make them raise their bail to get out. All money goes to Relay. Want to raise a ton, arrest that D.J. because NO ONE wants to Relay without music.

Our appreciation goes out to the sheriff for agreeing to participate in Relay in this way.

Now, as a reminder, we are weighting down Luminaria bags with canned goods to donate to the Clothes and Food Basket. So, everyone that gets a luminaria should bring a canned good. If you know there are 10 luminarias for your team, we'd like if you brought 10 cans of food. Let's help fill the shelves and help those who need it. We know you're a generous group and that's why we love you.

Also, there will be an online committee fundraiser. We'll be selling CDs of the song "All are our heroes." The song was written by David Greer of for the Gwinnett County (Georgia) Relay (It's sung by a young woman named Rachel Farley). There's a web site, check it out. Greer donates these CDs, through generous sponsors, for sale at Relay and ALL proceeds go to Relay. We played the song at the beginning of the luminaria ceremony in Whitley County and it was fairly well received. Listen for it during the survivor lap Saturday.

As a side note, look for flyers advertising our Facebook account and this blog. You can find us on Facebook by searching for LaGrange Relayforlife.

If you've made it this far THANK YOU! One more reminder: TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT CPS-3!
